Developmental Leadership Model    The Developmental Leadership Model is a brilliant method of describing the appropriate leadership style needed at various stages of follower development. The leader uses the necessary amount of directive versus supportive behavior as followers move from low to high ability to perform the work.    It is important to note that using an inappropriate style may result in regression, or "tuning out," resulting in lower performance or even dysfunctional employee behaviors.    These are critical lessons for leaders.
