Games Teams Play™

Games Teams PlayGames Teams Play™ is a board game. Teams strive to reach the finish line first, and move around the board by reaching consensus on solutions to work situations and trivia questions. Along the way are interesting consequences called Gains & Glitches that help or hinder the team's progress.

The beauty of this game is its relevance to real working situations encountered by teams every day. The Team Situations booklets (see example below) contain challenging situations with multiple choice answers, forcing teams to talk about how to resolve them. In the context of a game, teams discuss issues critical to their successful development, providing a powerful and lasting learning experience.

Games Teams Play™ comes in three editions to help all levels of the organization:

Games Teams Play™
…for Team Members
…for Team Leaders
…for Senior Managers

Team Situations booklet sample situation
(for Team Members):

1. One person on the team does not seem to be meeting the same performance standards as everyone else. You and several others are concerned about the effect on team productivity and the impact on the team rewards program.

You should first:

A. Ask your team leader to assist you by working one-on-one with that employee and determine his/her deficiencies. The leader is the appropriate person to coach him/her and/or provide the necessary training.

B. As a team make sure you have clarified expectations and performance standards, established deadlines and consequences for not meeting those deadlines. Ask your team leader to help if necessary.

C. Confront this person at the next meeting, giving a feedback in a manner that will allow you to describe the situation, express your feelings, specify the desired behaviors and possible consequences.

D. Ask the team leader to act as a go-between for the team. The leader needs to help you by sharing the team's concerns with the employee and explaining that the team won't be able to "carry" this person much longer. Suggest that the team leader transfer this person.
