This assessment is designed for individuals who are members of teams. Its primary purpose is to enable individuals to determine their strengths and areas of improvement as team members. As such, a team member may assess his or her own behaviors, draw conclusions, and identify a course of action. In addition, a team member may gather feedback from fellow team members on his or her performance and include those perspectives in the conclusions and plans for action. A secondary purpose of the survey is to enable team members to discuss their collective effectiveness and identify ways in which to improve overall team performance.

The 36-item profile focuses on 6 necessary "Effectiveness Factors:"

2. Clarifying Team Roles
3. Showing Commitment
4. Encouraging Open Communication
5. Learning Continuously
6. Sharing Leadership Responsibilities

How it works:
Each individual creates two profiles. The first is based on the individual''s own perceptions of his or her effectiveness. The second is created from feedback given by other team members.

Finally, action planning assists team members in transferring what they have learned to their day-to-day efforts. Teams may also discuss their collective effectiveness and identify ways to improve overall team performance.

The Participant Guide features pressure-sensitive scoring, feedback ratings and overall team performance charts, as well as action planning worksheets.

The detailed Facilitator Guide includes five different options for conducting feedback, from one-on-one sessions to large group discussions. Also included in the Facilitator Guide are administrative guidelines, action planning, sample training designs, reproducible handout masters, and downloading instructions for a free Microsoft PowerPoint® presentation.

The Feedback Form allows fellow team members to provide feedback using the same 36 statements and pressure-sensitive scoring. (The Feedback form does not include content and action planning pages.)

The Participant Guide may be used alone without the Feedback instrument, however, the results then represent those of the participant only.
